The Southern Quill, established in 1951 and published annually by Utah Tech University, welcomes submissions of poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, and visual art from artists and writers from anywhere in the United States. 

· We do not accept previously published work, regardless of format or circulation.

· We accept simultaneous submissions so long as you withdraw your submission if your work is accepted elsewhere.

· We accept all submissions free of charge. 

· Please include a third-person biographical note of 100 words or fewer with your submission. We will include it in our publication should we accept your work.

· Upon publication, all rights will revert back to the author.

· Please submit only one (1) submission in each genre per submission period. 

· Our submission period runs from October 15, 2023 - March 8, 2024

· We will respond to all submissions by May 1, 2024.
